This impressive perennial herb originates from the Eastern seaboard of the USA and Canada in grasslands and open woodlands. This compact upright plant is best in the rear or mid border where it forms moderate clumps. Plant in moist, fertile soil in full sun or partial shade. Plant can be dug up and divided if needed. Good drought and frost tolerance. Blooming through summer.
