Frost hardy evergreen perennial with grey green foliage and pink single petaled flowers. Dianthus always epitomises a lovely border in a cottage garden or rockeries.

Plant in full sun, or partial shade. Dianthus need fertile, well-drained soil that is alkaline. Plant after danger of frost has passed with approx 30cm between the plants. Do not mulch around them. Water them only at the base of the plant to keep the foliage dry and prevent mildew spotting.
